THE SISTERS

The Franciscan Convent Residential Care Home forms part of the convent complex where the Braintree sisters  live alongside the residents. These Sisters have come from all over the world to semi retirement and bring a wealth of experience gained in countries such as Papua New Guinea, Italy, USA, Ireland and Australia.

The Franciscan Sisters continue their life of prayer and charitable works and also during the day you will find the Sisters sharing time and space with the residents in communal areas such as the dining room or lounge and the beautiful gardens and sun terrace, weather permitting.

The sisters try to bring the joy of Christian witness into the lives of the elderly, to care for their temporal and spiritual welfare with love. Even the most difficult person responds to kindness and goodness. Like St. Francis we say , " Make me a channel of your peace"
